Sin embargo al ser la última pieza que se trabajó para este laborioso disco, los músicos de estudio y el propio Simon se encontraban exhaustos. Así que Paul decidió que con lo grabado era suficiente y se abandonó Thelma, quedando decolgada. Posteriormente fue incluida en el triple recopilatorio 1964-1993 como única novedad del mismo. Lo que es de agradecer pues se trata de una dulce canción de amor, heredera de Something So Right en sus textos, aunque musicalmente se encuentra dominada por los ritmos brasileiros, especialmente apoyados en una magnífica percusión. En realidad la recuperación de esta canción es un hecho insólito en la carrera de Paul Simon, pues canciones deshechadas a última hora de otros albumes anteriores, por causas diversas, como Citizen Of The Planet (para Hearts & Bones), Cuba SI Nixon No (para "Bridge"), Bad News Feelin´ (para el SongBook) o las desechadas de One-Trick-Pony (I wanna get high, Spiral Highway y Slow Man), a pesar de estar grabadas jamás han visto la luz. Tan sólo Cuba Si Nixon No aparece en el bootleg Back To College, en version en directo.
